Overview The Human Resources Advisor contributes to the advancement of the HR function by providing professional HR support and guidance across the employee lifecycle. This role partners with employees and leaders to support day-to-day HR needs, including employee relations, benefits programs, policy interpretation and the delivery of HR programs and processes. This position is a 2-year term, with the possibility of becoming permanent. Accountabilities * Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to employees and leaders, including policy interpretation, employee relations support, and HR inquiries, while ensuring consistent application of HR practices and procedures * Support benefits administration by responding to employee inquiries regarding eligibility, coverage, claims processes and benefit programs, while coordinating with external providers to ensure effective program delivery * Support performance management and employee recognition programs through the coordination of communications, reporting, timelines and related administrative activities * Partner with leaders to support talent management processes, including talent assessments, workforce planning discussions and the identification of employee development opportunities * Maintains accurate employee records and HR system data, support reporting, workflow administration, data audits and employee inquiries to ensure data integrity and effective HR operations * Support HR operational activities throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, leave administration, records management and preparation of HR documentation and correspondence * Participate in HR initiatives and projects and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of HR programs, processes and employee experience Qualifications * Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a combination of education and related experience. * Minimum three years of progressive Human Resources experience. * Working knowledge of HR principles, best practices and applicable employment legislation. * HR experience in an industrial environment including 24/7 operations would be considered an asset. * A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or working towards your designation is an asset. Skills * Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills * Customer-focused with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization * Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment * Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR information systems The chosen candidate will also be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties.
