About The Role Schedule: 40 hours per week, flexible work schedule available Position Reports To: Human Resources Superintendent Position Overview The HR Generalist works with a team that prioritizes integrity in managing confidential issues with tact and discretion. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain a professional relationship between site employees, site leadership and human resources by ensuring a sense of confidentiality, mutual trust, respect and teamwork Provide guidance to employees and department leadership teams regarding Human Resources policies, procedures and legislation Familiarity with employment legislation including Employment Standards, Labour Code, HumanRights and Privacy Ability to create and deliver presentations and training to various audiences Maintain HRIS systems and other records Provide analytical support by generating reports and consolidating data Assist with the planning, coordination and deployment of HR policies, guidelines and practices Work with department leadership to establish recruitment requirements and manage and participate in the full cycle of the recruitment process Support onboarding of new employees to the organization’s culture and processes Support the strong team environment across the organization through collaboration, exceptional customer service and proactive problem-solving Other activities as needed to support the HR Team and New Afton site Qualifications Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in HR or equivalent Minimum of 3 years of Human Resource experience in a variety of HR functions Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required A well developed communicator who is able to operate effectively and professionally within the organization Highly ethical and able to deal with confidential issues with tact and discretion An out-of-the-box problem solver, analytical thinker Able to demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands and deadlines Previous systems experience using SAP, SharePoint and SuccessFactors considered an asset. Preference will be given to candidates who are working towards their Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation. Other Requirements Candidates will be required to participate in a comprehensive qualification process, including: Successful completion of pre-placement functional screen Provide proof of a valid Class 5 driver’s license Demonstrate eligibility to work in Canada Provide confirmation of valid educational requirements Compensation The anticipated salary for this position will be between $78,000 to $85,000. A comprehensive benefits program and performance bonus plan will also be provided. This is not a camp operation and therefore the successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Kamloops area or travel and accommodation will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
