We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist for Alberta Boot Company, one of Avenue Living's private equity companies. You will be the first point of contact for our leaders and teams, working collaboratively with the retail, factory, and office teams to support all aspects of the employee life cycle. You will be essential in reflecting the brand’s values, the business’s vision, and the team’s commitment to excellence. WHAT WILL YOU DO? * Partner closely with business operations leaders to understand their objectives and align HR support that drive results. * Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing HR guidance and support on items including payroll administration, employee relations, recruitment, employee documentation, and record management. * Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related inquiries, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employee standards. * With guidance from the Avenue Living People & Culture team, facilitate conflict resolution and investigations, escalating issues as appropriate. * Support performance management processes including, documentation and compliance with Alberta Employment Standards Code and company policies. * Lead and support full employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, HRIS updates, employee changes, and offboarding. * Assist employees with benefits inquiries and liaise with third-party providers. Support the administration of leaves of absence, accommodations, and return-to-work processes. * Assist operations and legal with immigration documentation and employee support. * Support payroll accuracy by verifying employee data changes, hours, and leaves. * Support recruitment efforts in partnership with the operational leaders, ensuring timely and effective execution of hiring plans. WHAT WILL YOU NEED? * Human Resources Education (Diploma/Certificate/Degree) with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Human Resources, ideally in a retail, manufacturing, and/or multi-site environment. * Experience within a broad range of HR functions, managing full-cycle recruitment, policy and documentation governance, investigations, payroll/timekeeping administration and employee support, and leadership partnering. * Knowledge of Alberta employment legislation and workplace standards. * Proficient with HRIS systems (preferably ADP) and Microsoft Office. * Natural communicator who thrives within a cross-functional team with proven ability to build strong relationships across locations and employee levels. * Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, a keen eye for attention to detail, and the ability to be succeed in a fast-paced work environment. * Adaptability with comfort living in the grey and the ability to take others’ perspectives and objectives into consideration. Executing our day-to-day work can be a sprint, but achieving our goals and executing our strategy is a journey. * Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. * Must be willing and comfortable working full-time in the office and able to travel to other retail locations within Calgary and Banff as needed (driver’s license and reliable vehicle required).
