Own the full-cycle recruitment process for skilled trades, technical, and leadership roles within a manufacturing environment. Partner with plant leadership to develop sourcing strategies and build talent pipelines for passive candidates.
Talent Acquisition Specialist – Manufacturing About the Opportunity We are recruiting for an established manufacturing organization supporting OEM, military and defence-related markets. This is a Talent Acquisition-first role for a hands-on recruiter who knows how to find people who are not sitting on job boards waiting to be hired. You will own recruitment across a manufacturing operation, partnering directly with plant leadership, hiring managers and technical leaders to build pipelines, solve difficult searches and bring strong talent into the organization. This is not a generalist HR position with some recruitment responsibilities. Recruitment is the core of the role. Location: Ingersoll, Ontario Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site Compensation: $59,500 – $83,300 annually + excellent benefits, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement and more What You’ll Be Doing Own full-cycle recruitment from intake through sourcing, screening, interviews, assessments, references, offers and closing. Recruit across skilled trades, plant/production, technical, engineering, professional and leadership positions. Build and execute sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill manufacturing and plant-based roles. Proactively source passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, networking, industry contacts, social media, recruitment platforms and direct outreach. Develop and maintain talent pipelines for current and future plant workforce requirements. Partner directly with plant managers, operations leaders, engineering leaders and hiring managers to understand workforce requirements and define realistic candidate profiles. Challenge and refine hiring requirements when searches are not producing qualified candidates. Support high-volume plant hiring while maintaining quality and candidate experience. Understand local labour-market conditions, talent availability, compensation pressures and skills shortages impacting manufacturing recruitment. Build relationships with trade schools, colleges, universities, apprenticeship programs, employment organizations and community partners. Represent the organization at career fairs, hiring events, industry events and community initiatives. Support employer branding and recruitment marketing initiatives designed to attract manufacturing and technical talent. Develop structured interview guides, candidate assessment tools and consistent selection processes. Track recruitment activity, pipeline health, time-to-fill and other recruitment metrics and use the data to improve hiring outcomes. Work closely with HR and operational leadership to support workforce planning and future talent needs. What We’re Looking For Mandatory: 5+ years of hands-on Talent Acquisition / recruitment experience. Direct experience recruiting within manufacturing, industrial or plant environments. Demonstrated experience recruiting skilled trades ~ this is compulsory. Experience hiring for plant/production/hourly positions. Experience recruiting technical and/or engineering roles. Strong full-cycle recruitment ownership. Proven ability to proactively source and recruit passive candidates rather than relying primarily on job applications. Experience managing multiple requisitions and high-volume recruitment. Strong experience partnering directly with plant, operations, and hiring leadership. Experience using an ATS/HRIS and LinkedIn Recruiter. Strong interviewing, candidate assessment, and stakeholder-management skills. Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Ability and willingness to work fully on-site in Ingersoll, Ontario. The Ideal Background We would be particularly interested in recruiters who have hired for roles such as: Millwrights | Electricians | Welders | Machinists | Maintenance Technicians | CNC | Production Operators | Supervisors | Manufacturing Engineers | Quality | Technical Specialists | Plant Leadership Experience recruiting within OEM, automotive, defence, aerospace, heavy manufacturing, industrial equipment, metal fabrication or other highly structured manufacturing environments would be highly valuable. Important Eligibility Requirement Because this position supports a defence-related manufacturing environment, candidates must meet the client's Controlled Goods eligibility requirements. Candidates must be able to confirm that they have: Lived and worked in Canada continuously for the past five years Not been outside Canada for more than six consecutive months during that period Appropriate authorization to work in Canada Willingness to complete the required background screening Education Diploma, certificate or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Sociology or a related discipline. Bachelor's degree is an asset. RPR/CHRL designation is an asset. Why Join? Salary range ~ $59,500–$83,300 Excellent benefits Profit-sharing program Tuition reimbursement Stable, long-term career opportunity Opportunity to work across skilled trades, manufacturing, technical and engineering recruitment High-impact role working directly with plant and operational leadership Opportunity to build long-term talent pipelines rather than simply fill requisitions Established organization supporting OEM, military and defence-related markets The Person We Want You are a recruiter first. You know the difference between posting a job and actually finding talent. You are comfortable walking onto a plant floor, understanding what a hiring manager actually needs, speaking credibly with skilled tradespeople and technical professionals, and figuring out what to change when a search is not working. You can manage volume without becoming transactional, build relationships with passive candidates, and take ownership from the first intake conversation through the accepted offer. If skilled trades recruitment, plant hiring and manufacturing talent acquisition are already part of your world, we want to hear from you. Apply now.
